Information on Multilingual Free Consultations

We offers multilingual support for foreign residents living in the area to provide general consultation on everyday life issue, information services, and referrals to the organizations that provide support services for foreign residents so that they can live their lives comfortably. Consultation is free.
* This operation is managed by NIMIC under the consignment of Nishitokyo city government.
* These consultations are for people who live, work, or attend school in Nishitokyo City.

The center’s services may come in handy when:

• you have concerns or questions about everyday issues;
• you do not know where to go for advice;
• you want to learn more about hospitals and schools;
• you are looking for Japanese-language classes;
• you need help completing various administrative procedures;
• you are looking for information for foreign residents;
• you want a multilingual newsletter;
• you are interested in international exchange;
• you want to volunteer for international exchange or multicultural activities;
• you want to volunteer as an interpreter or translator;
• you know a foreign resident who is having some problems.

Multilingual Free Consultation

Consultations are available at the Nishitokyo Multicultural Center (in the ING Building).

Consultation Hours 
Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00.
(*Not available on national holidays and during the year-end and New Year holidays (December 27-January 4). *Japanese or simple English is available.

Interpreters are available at the consultation desk as follows.
(Subject to change without notice. Please call before you go.)
• Chinese: Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Korean: Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00      
(Once a month on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.)
• Spanish: Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The following languages are available through tablet interpreters.
English, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Filipino, Thai, Nepali, Hindi, Vietnamese, French, Russian, Indonesian, Khmer, Myanmar, and Ukrainian.
