Calling all foreign residents in Nishitokyo City! Please share this with your friends and neighbors!
This event is a great opportunity to prepare and taste various kinds of Mochi (rice cakes), such as Zoni (soup), Anko (sweet red bean paste), and Kinako (sweet soybean flour). Afterwards, you can try traditional New Year’s games like Sugoroku (board game), Fukuwarai (pinning game), Karuta (card game), and practice Kakizome (first calligraphy of the year).
- Who: Foreign residents, students, or workers in Nishitokyo City. (Elementary school age children and younger must be accompanied by a guardian.)
- When: Saturday, January 24, 2026, 14:00–16:30
- Where: Tanashi Community Center, B1F Training Room
- Fee: 500 JPY (200 JPY for elementary school age and younger, pay on the day)
- Capacity: Approx. 25 people (First-come, first-served)
- Deadline: Friday, January 16, 2026
- What to bring: Apron, towel or bandanna (to cover hair)
- Interpretation: English, Chinese, and Korean interpretation is available.
