”Let’s experience the Japanese New Year” event for foreign residents in Nishitokyo

Please tell your foreign neighbors about this event.

We will prepare and eat various kinds of Japanese rice cakes (zoni, anko, kinako, etc.) together. Afterwards, we will play traditional Japanese New Year’s games (sugoroku, fukuwarai, karuta, etc.) and write the first calligraphy of the year.
Target: Non-Japanese who live, study, or work in Nishitokyo City (children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

– Date: Saturday, January 25, 2025, 14:00-16:30
– Place: Tanashi Community Center, B1F (4-minute walk from the south exit of Tanashi Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line)
– Fee: 500 yen (200 yen for elementary school students and younger)  
– Capacity: Approximately 25 people (in order of application)
– Application deadline: Friday, January 17, 2025
– Bring: Apron, towel or bandana (to prevent hair from falling out)
– Interpretation: English, Chinese and Korean are available.
